We envision communities full of interconnected farms, shared intergenerational skills, a strong culture, and sovereign people.
About
What started as a front yard garden shared with family, friends, and neighbors grew into something much bigger. Through Black Earth Day, our little plot turned into a community farm built on the idea of looking out for one another.
We saw a vital need for Black communities and other communities of color to have a space where we can come together to:
Grow our own food and build true food sovereignty.
Cultivate deep connections with the land and each other.
Empower our neighborhood by sharing knowledge and skills.
Seed to Soul's goal is to support community healing, food justice, environmental stewardship, and connections between people and the land through urban farming, community gardens, education, youth engagement, advocacy, and community gatherings. Projects will include Seed to Soul Farms, Black Earth Day, educational workshops, and Farm to Table programming.
Mission, Vision & Values
OUR MISSION
To nourish and teach Black, brown, and impacted communities about the resources needed to grow fresh healthy food. We plant seeds of hope, opportunity, and belonging for everyone to thrive.
Vision
We envision communities full of interconnected farms, shared intergenerational skills, a strong culture, and sovereign people.
Values
Sustainable Practices: We live and grow in ways so the land can support for generations, regenerating what it uses so people and land thrive together.
Intentionality: We act with purpose, choosing every practice, gathering, and relationship to reflect its values.
Sovereign: We empower individuals and communities to grow their own food, steward their own land, and shape their own lives through self-reliance and informed choice.
Teach: We share hands-on, earth-based knowledge across generations, so the skills and wisdom that sustain life are learned, practiced, and passed on.
CommUnity: We cultivate a circle of mutual belonging, where people support one another, care for the land they share, and grow together.
